digitizing and shortening the food supply chain

Elevator Pitch

Fresh.Land brings a new model to the food industry. Our B2B platform shortens and digitizes the food supply chain. It empowers farmers to sell directly to retailers, replacing 3-5 middlemen. With Fresh.Land, farmers use the trees as a natural “warehouse” and deliver freshly harvested produce from tree to store in days, rather than months.

We pair farmers and buyers algorithmically, in a virtual “farmers market”. Then, our software manages the “just-in-time” delivery between farmers and buyers. It optimizes the warehousing and shipping from external parties, and provides full traceability along food supply chain. We provide the scale, digital infrastructure, and know-how in one integrated solution.

Our goal is to scale globally and make the food industry more economically and environmentally sustainable:

• Economy: Fresh.Land improves the financial situation of farmers. Selling with no middlemen, they capture a larger share of the value (20-50% more). This is crucial at a time when EU family farm income has decreased 23% from 2001 to 2015.

• Environment: According to WWF, “Fresh.Land can save 88% of greenhouse gas emissions from storage and reduce food waste by 10%, saving 12.7 million tons of CO2 annually by 2026”. We also eliminate preservation chemicals, as we reduce time-to-store from months to days.

Successfully scaling Fresh.Land will strengthen EUs position at the forefront of agribusiness and cleantech.
