Elevator Pitch

LeydenJar Technologies is a cross over from the thin film PV industry, making pure silicon anodes for use in Li-ion battery cells. Our pure silicon anodes have a tenfold capacity over existing graphite anodes, leading to an improvement of 50% in terms of energy density. The industry is able to improve the energy density with 3-5% p.a.




Why we are ecofriendly

Our ecofriendliness is based on two aspects.
Product: we enable electric vehicles with a much wider range of driving, and a lower battery cost per kilometer. We also enable renewable energy storage in a smaller footprint, and at lower cost.
Process: our production process is much cleaner than the existing coating process, avoiding dirty graphite mining, pollutants, and replacing six capital intensive process steps with one roll to roll machine.

Fundraising

We will be starting our Series A round in Q3 this year, raising € 5 mln for our base plant to produce pure silicon anode rolls at a semi commercial basis.

We have raised € 625k in a seed round in September 2016.

The market for Li-ion battery cells is expected to be € 30 bn in 2025, the anode takes into account 20% of that value. (Avicienne, 2016).
